Pelangi Design opened a retail store in 1990 that featured handmade batik children’s clothing and home accessories made from traditional antique sarongs and hand-woven Balinese cottons. This initial business has expanded into an exclusive design and production house for wholesale customers from around the world. Cinnabar Blue was established in 2003 to bring our unique handmade batik children’s clothing to the US wholesale marketplace under a new brand name. We produce women’s and children’s clothing made from a wide variety of fabrics including handmade batik cotton and rayon, hand-woven Balinese cotton, linen, voile, micro-fiber, twill, jersey, fleece, etc. Embroidery, appliqué, and silk-screening are also available.

hand made batik fabrics: Cinnabar Blue batik children’s clothing for boys and girls is made from high quality 100% cotton that has been hand colored and batiked one roll at a time by experienced Javanese batik makers.
seasonal collections: Our unique fabrics and coordinated collections are custom created to ensure exclusivity.
no shrinkage: Pelangi Design batik fabrics have been boiled during the batik process to ensure no shrinkage after washing.
simple & generous sizes: Children's clothing sizes can be confusing. Cinnabar blue sizes are generous and correspond directly to the age of a child - a size 3 for a three year old and so on.
easy diaper changes: Mothers will be happy to know that infant and toddler clothing up to size 3 has snaps in the inseams of overalls, rompers, and jumpsuits for easy diaper changes.
washing instructions: We recommend all Cinnabar Blue batik children’s clothing be washed separately or with similar colors in cold water and immediately dried separately or with similar colors in the dryer on low to medium heat to set our fabric colors before being worn the first time. Continue to wash clothing with like colors in cold water and mild detergent.
